SafeSteps
Who we are!
SafeSteps is a trauma-informed safety and behavior training program created by Behaven Kids, a Nebraska-based pediatric behavioral health organization with more than 20 years of experience supporting children, families, schools, and childcare providers through a specialized Day Program, ABA Therapy, and Mental Health Therapy Services. Behaven kids also offer parent training courses.
SafeSteps specialize in helping educators and youth-serving professionals create safe, calm, supportive environments where children can succeed, without fear, shame, or unnecessary crisis responses.
Mission
To empower educators and caregivers with practical, trauma-aware tools that prevent behavioral escalation, protect dignity, and keep everyone safe.
We believe safety starts long before a crisis. When we look at behavior as communication we are able to prevent crisis, while maintaining a safe environment for children to grow.
Vision
Just as Behaven’s Vision has always looked to brighter futures for children, through SafeSteps, we hope to see a safer future for every classroom and childcare environment.
